International Journal Review : LEARNERS PERSPECTIVE ON ENGLISH PRONUNCIATION TEACHING IN AN EFL CONTEXT
Hello readers ©
In this blog, I would like to review an international
journal I have been read. I choose a journal written by Elina Tergujeff, University of Jyväskylä, Finland. Research in Language, 2013, vol. 11.1, DOI 10.2478/v10015-012-0010-z.
The title of this journal is Learner Perspective on English Pronunciation
Teaching in an EFL Context. I’m so interested with the student pronunciation in
other whole world, for example in Finland, because in Finland believe that English
is a foreigner languange (EFL) and not a second language. I do curious of
responses students on English pronunciation teaching. From this journal we can
seeing that the writers doing the interview with interviewee from primary,
lower secondary and upper secondary levels.
From Introduction of the journal, we can seeing that in Findland English
as a foreigner language (EFL). Basically in Finland, student studying about
English when primary level. According to statistics, almost all schoolchildren study English as their first foreign language, beginning their study of English already at the primary level (Kumpulainen 2010, 88–89; for more information about the Finnish educational system, see ibid., 222). English use by another context. Such as in working life, and used in leisure activities, especially by youth. From this journal is talking about the several issues related to pronunciation teaching and learning: learners’ goals, teaching practices, and learners’ evaluations of their teaching. The research choose two student from primary level (age 10), six student from lower secondari (age 15-16), and two student from upper secondary (age 18).
Thank you ☺️☺️☺️
